(Cindy) Johnson
Founding Director, Secretary, Integrated Learning Institute, Palm Desert, CA
Cindy was born in Denver, Colorado, but grew up in many places. Since her father was in the military she lived in Hong Kong and Iran as well as all over the United States. Cindy considers the Coachella Valley as a permanent address since she moved here in 1992 and has lived here ever since. Cindy has much experience working with nonprofit organizations. Her job as the Biblical Counseling Foundation’s Administrator for United States Courses keeps her very busy but she has still made time to serve on the ILI Board of Directors since its inception in 2003. Cindy was introduced to NILD Educational Therapy when her son received help for his learning disability and she considers it a privilege to help ILI grow to provide NILD Educational Therapy for more children.
For 20 years Cindy has taught weekly Bible studies for inmates at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison near Blythe. In her spare time Cindy relaxes by making quilts and delighting in her three adult children and nine grandchildren.

Sue Meyers
Director, Treasurer, Integrated Learning Institute, Palm Desert, CA
Sue, her husband Wayne and family lived in the Coachella for 40 years raising their 3 children, Brian, Ray and Kristi. She has volunteered with Cynthia over the years a variety of capacities. Ray took classes with Cynthia which helped him so much. In 2020, they moved to Missouri with their 2 adopted grandchildren, Ariyanie and Urijah. Most of Sue's work experience was within major retailers in Operations and Human Resource management. In 2005, she began to work with the local rescue mission just before they began a capital building campaign for a new site for reaching more people for Christ. Sue worked with the Executive Director as the Associate Director overseeing facility management, finances, human resources and Board reports for 14 years. She is now retired with Wayne, raising 2 early teens and helping Cynthia with ILI. They enjoy their grandson, Aidric and visit Brian's family in Indiana to love on more grandkids, Allison, Katie and Jacob.

Cynthia Moses, Founder
Executive Director, Professionally Certified NILD Educational Therapist
Cynthia is passionate about lessening the impact of learning problems in the lives of children, their families, and the community. Integrated Learning Institute began as a result of her strong desire to equip a greater number of struggling children with the tools they need to become independent learners. She currently serves as an educational therapist, program administrator, and executive director.
As an instructor/consultant for National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) with 28 years experience as a NILD Educational Therapist, Cynthia brings a depth of knowledge and commitment to ILI that is seen in the ongoing training she provides our staff and her work with her own students.
Cynthia and Daymor, her husband of 50 years, enjoy spending time with their two adult sons, daughters-in-love, and nine grandchildren.

Emily Nelson
Director, Integrated Learning Institute, Palm Desert, CA
Emily is a Coachella Valley native and graduate of Indio High School. She is an independent Health and Environmental Risk Consultant and has advised our local Coachella Valley Association of Governments on local air quality issues for the past 34 years. She has served on the C.V. Resource Conservation Board as well as on advisory panels for the South Coast Air Quality Management District. She and her husband Dr. Dan Nelson have raised four sons. Two of their boys needed extensive therapy through ILI and were blessed to become fully integrated socially and academically as a result. All four graduated as Valedictorians of their local Christian high school and have pursued careers in medicine, mathematics, engineering and the law. Her interests led her to teach elementary science enrichment classes, judge and mentor science and math fairs and coach high school academic competition teams. Emily and Dan love the Lord, have been married for 41 years and have been involved in children’s ministry from nursery through high school ages. Their current passion is traveling from coast to coast visiting four young grandchildren.
